BE ALRIGHT

Welcome!

In 2009, while visiting one of the first domestic violence shelters in Chicago, a second year medical student looked at me imploringly and asked, "Is this where the mothers and children live?". It was both a question and a plea. She was really asking, "How can we help?"  So from that plea, Be Alright was born. Our mission is to support survivors of domestic violence and the shelters they reside in during moments of crisis.

But how does one sustain and nourish that mission? Quite simply...it takes a village. At our first volunteer event that summer of 2009, we gathered 22 of our family members and friends to paint the bedrooms of a shelter. And as we watched those rooms become bright and beautiful, we reflected on the message of love and hope being sent through a simple act of kindness. Since that event, you have all helped us sustain that mission by creating reading rooms, replacing blinds, volunteering at the annual holiday party and sponsoring over a 100 children as they head back to school!

Every time you support a survivor, volunteer, donate and send us a message of love,  we are all that much closer to living in a world where domestic violence is no longer tolerated.

Thank you for joining us as we shape a world of peace, love and understanding!

Great Love,
