Be Alright Spring and Mother's Day 2021 Campaign!
Dear Be Alright Supporters,
After this Easter holiday, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many volunteers who helped us gather hundreds of personal care products and 143 self-care kits for survivors of domestic violence this winter!
Thank you to The Honeycomb Project and it’s many sweet young volunteers who stopped by to drop off Love and Valentine-inspired kits this past Feb and March!
Thank you to Lissette Sandoval and the UIC ROTC Fire Battalion for reaching out to us to ask if they could donate self-care kits, creating them and dropping off the most adorable kits in February!
Thank you to Kimberly Blackburn, owner of Red June Cafe in Bucktown for hosting our winter clothing drop box every season and to our neighbors who keep the box filled to the brim! The advocates at Greenhouse were thrilled when they saw the coats and jackets!
And thank you to Patricia Bakle, the director of Domestic Violence Programs at Centro Romero supporting survivors of any age, for distributing the kits and toys safely to your wonderful clients!
After a recent conversation with one of the Honeycomb volunteers, they wrote back, “Our conversation really opened my eyes to how important just having your own body wash can be to someone at a shelter.”
All of these items are precious and important.
You may wonder how we will be supporting moms and families this Mother's Day?
Due to COVID-19 precautions, we will not be hosting large gatherings but instead assist various local shelters in ordering individual meals for their clients.
